Saturday June 8th, 10:00am-12:30pm 3500 Great Highway
Have you ever wondered what happens to the dirty water from your shower, bath, and toilet after it goes down the drain? What about the runoff from lawns and gardens, and rainwater or car washing? On Saturday, June 8th, we invite you to follow the flow and take a FREE tour of our Oceanside Wastewater Treatment Plant to find out how San Francisco's sewer system works!

http://sf.funcheap.com/2013/06/08 World Naked Bike Ride: 10th Anniv SF Sat June 8 – 10:30 am FREE | Justin Herman Plaza

https://www.facebook.com/events/441205769309143 10TH Anniv World Naked Bike Ride - SF Sat Jun 8 10:30am Justin Herman Plaza SF
We meet on the northeast side of Vaillancourt Fountain, between the fountain and Embarcadero Blvd at 10:30 AM., an additional half hour early to do body/face paint and reacquaint ourselves. Bring body paints, watercolors and markers to apply slogans and designs to each other and adorn your bikes with signs; meet with old and new friends.
While it is a "naked" bike ride, all are welcome; it's ride as bare as you dare. That is, body paint, rubber latex, bikinis, topless, lingerie, bubble pack, whatever costume you are comfortable riding with. And we have already had two WNBRs this year while under cloud of the oppressive Weiner anti-nudity ordinance, with NO citations or complaints. If you are still uncertain, than its best to have a sarong, a beach wrap or shorts ready for quick coverup.
Our ride is part of a global protest taking place today in many cities throughout the US, Europe and other cities in the Northern Hemisphere. Tens of thousands of naked bike riders are protesting the global dependency of our society and economies at the hands of the oil cartels.

About us: We are Café Nëgrø. We degauss your spirit with heavy metal and serve cold-brew coffee to the starveling, demyelinated, aporic wretches of Burning Man. Shouldering our way onto the playa amidst drunken dubmongers and spendthrift sparkleponies, we hold our head up and do justice.

)'( Burning Man 2013 Desert Arts Preview - Annual Artist Lecture Series FREE admission!
Fri June 14, 6:00pm-8:25pm (Speakers begin at 6:05pm SHARP!)
At the Koret Auditorium in de Young Museum SF GG Park
50 Hagiwara Tea Garden Dr, Golden Gate Park SF
Come early to enjoy the museum and take your seat in the Koret Auditorium at 6pm.
This is our very popular annual artist lecture series, where you get a sneak preview of some of the many notable art projects in progress right now for Burning Man 2013. You'll hear from artists who are creating revolutionary works of art, often in radically collaborative ways. Some have been creating work for the inhospitable tabula rasa of the Black Rock Desert in Nevada for many years and will be sharing war stories. This is also the perfect opportunity to learn how YOU can get involved and support these and other artists at the Burning Man event and year-round—as we increasingly seek to place interactive, collaborative and community-generating works of art in cities around the world!
Each speaker will have approximately 10 minutes, so please arrive on time. This event is free and part of the free Friday Nights at the de Young series.
http://deyoung.famsf.org/deyoung/fridays
Also arrive early at the de Young and enjoy Urbanauts, a wonderful artist collaboration between Sean Orlando and Rebar, hosted by the de Young and supported by the Black Rock Arts Foundation and the James Irvine Foundation.
http://blackrockarts.org/projects/civic-arts/urbanauts
If you can't make it, look up Burning Man art projects at the link below and directly contact these and other artists/projects as you feel inspired. Get involved and help make the art you wish to see in the world!

Reno Art Mob - a showcase of Reno artists & performers
ART - MUSIC - SPOKEN WORD - LIVE PERFORMANCES
http://www.facebook.com/events/463591013723136/
A one-night art exhibit and entertainment extravaganza from just across the state line, to benefit the Control Tower, a new Burning Man project by International Arts Megacrew.
Hyde Spot, 125 Hyde St., San Francisco, 6pm to 2am., Sat., June 15th, , 2013, $10
Hey Bay Area art fans! It's a road trip without the road! A core contingent of Reno's creative community is coming to San Francisco! Join Reno Art Mob, an ever-growing band of brash, buoyant artists (20 strong, morphing like amoebas and propagating like bunnies) for a one-night extravaganza, of art, entertainment, and general mayhem, Reno-style.
Reno is a veritable powder factory of creative output, and we're fixing to show you what we've got, from neon to knitting, hard-boiled portraits to velvety-royal costume finery, and just about everything in between. Come see!
While your eyeballs and eardrums feast on all this fabulousness, you'll also be helping International Arts Megacrew raise funds for the Control Tower, a very cool Burning Man project that unites numerous crews from around the country under one shining banner
Hope to see you there! )'(

)'( )'( Burning Man presents... CARNIVAL OF CULTS! - June Flambe Lounge Sat June 15th 9pm to 3:30am )'(
At The CULTure Factory, 525 Harrison St, SF @ 1st st 21+
Artists, theme camps, performers and DJs wanting to participate in this event-ing of community and creativity should email flambelounge@burningman.com
CARNIVAL OF CULTS Theme: Some wonder if Burning Man is a cult. If we are, then we are a DIY cult where members are encouraged to think for themselves and wash their own brains! For this evening we invite you to create your own imaginative, playful, satiric, retro-absurd or future envisioning cults. We encourage you to dress and act the part, create midway games, processional groups and bizarre rituals to inspire followers to join you.
Bring your cult of personality and beliefs to life in a collaborative and creative manner. You might create a roving theme camp cult of pious platypi seeking to recruit new members for its art colony. Perhaps you are a closet alien cult leader on a galactic campaign to save the Cosmos! Prepare YOUR message and indoctrination ritual! We welcome your creative and collaborative interpretations of this playful and poignant theme—whether you are a cult of one or many. It’s up to you!
To bring your art, theme camp, or perform please email flambelounge@burningman.com today! Any and all are welcome whether thematic or not. event page:

Center Your Life in the Truth of Who You Are, in the Sacred Way of Shabbat (Sabbath)
A Spiritual Evening With Rabbi Gabriel Cousens, DD, MD
Founder, Tree of Life Center US and Tree of Life Foundation, author, Torah As A Guide To Enlightenment, Spiritual Nutrition, Conscious Eating, and more
An opportunity to re-fresh and re-ground in spiritual life, support your whole-person well-being, and be your unique expression of the Divine
Fri, June 28, 7:45 pm La Quinta Inn 920 University Ave, Berkeley
Mark your calendar. Open to the General Public Room donations will be accepted.
Quotes on Sabbath that relate to spirituality, and apply to the spirit and ethics of live food:
"Silence brings Sabbath to you. Far from being a mere absence, silence allows [reality] to stand in the midst of your life... Just make space. Attend to what is around you. Learn that you don't have to DO to BE. Accept the grace of doing nothing. Break the power of busyness, haste, isolation, and loneliness. You will see that the world is not on your shoulders after all. Your will find yourself, and God will find you in new ways. ― Dallas Willard
“Sabbath is about withdrawal from the anxiety system of Pharaoh, the refusal to let one’s life be defined by production and consumption and the endless pursuit of private well-being.”― Walter Brueggemann

SURE enough same was true in 2012. IN FACT There were 20 or 30 SALE ads for every WANT ad. BAM!
 CALM DOWN. later on BECAUSE:
These years folks are SCARED so they buy extra tickets in February hoping to go, or for friends to go.
Then as the event nears and they admit they can not go they release those extras.

Burning Man Infographic
http://xmasons.com/prints/burning-man-infographic
The history of Burning Man has always been a complex entity that has survived, nay, mutated over the years. And because of this, it has grown rapidly since its humble beginnings of a simple gathering on a beach.
The infographic poster shows only a small portion of what Burning Man is. By no means do mere numbers even begin to show a complete picture, as that is a history of stories, experiences, and individual tales.
I was recently interviewed by Jordan Salinger from the San Francisco Planning and Urban Research Association about this inforgraphic:
“For some it is a yearly spiritual revival providing an emotionally charged respite from reality; for others it simply means they are able to eat brunch without standing in line. The mark left by Burning Man on San Franciscans and this city is undoubtedly immense, but is hard to truly measure. The same can be said about the impact on Black Rock City, Burning Man’s yearly home, but this stunning infographic provides an all-encompassing perspective on the event.”
